The Promise
Tell customers how long they'll wait and what you'll do if you're late. CheckMeIn only makes the promise when your live wait estimate is confident enough to back it - and issues the remedy for you when you miss.
Why it is different
CheckMeIn's live wait estimate learns from your own measured waits and checks its own misses. When it is not confident it says so - and The Promise stays quiet. That gate is what lets a promise be a promise.
Choose the wait you are willing to promise and what you will give if you're late - in English, and in French where you need it.
A readiness panel shows your location's measured waits and how often a promise at that limit would have been missed, before you switch it on.
A customer sees the promise only when your live wait estimate is reliable right now and already inside your limit.
On a hard afternoon the promise simply is not offered. There is no hedged version and no "we usually".
The confirmation screen shows the time they will be seen by. That promise stands even if the queue turns later.
Turning The Promise off stops new promises. Promises already given still stand.
When a customer is seen after the promised time, CheckMeIn issues a remedy code there and then. It is on their arrival card next visit, and emailed if you choose.
Nobody has to ask, and nobody has to remember. Your staff mark the code used when they honour it.

Questions
You do. The remedy is offered and funded by your business, and you accept that commitment before switching The Promise on. CheckMeIn measures the wait, issues the code and notifies the customer. It does not hold, honour, track the value of or reimburse any remedy, and no money moves through CheckMeIn.
The Promise is only offered when your location's live wait estimate is reliable and its upper bound is already inside your limit. When the queue cannot support the promise, customers simply do not see one.
The Promise needs French wording of at least equal prominence while any of your locations is in Quebec, and it will not be offered there without it.
No. Every remedy code is saved to the customer's visit and appears on their arrival card when they come back. Emailing the code is an option you can turn on or off, and the confirmation screen never promises an email that will not be sent.
Until 90 days after the visit that earned it. CheckMeIn deletes arrival details after 90 days, so a code cannot outlive the visit it came from.
